A Perfect Score: In the Arms of Grace Hospice Earns Deemed Status with Zero Findings
In the Arms of Grace Hospice has earned Deemed Status from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) with zero deficiencies in its triennial accreditation survey by The Joint Commission (TJC). The assessments involved in achieving deemed status are in-depth and thorough, and coming away with a perfect score is practically unheard of — it’s similar to pitching a perfect game in baseball.
We couldn’t be prouder. This accomplishment reflects the tireless work, dedication, and passion of our team.
What does “deemed status” mean?
Federal Deemed Status signifies that CMS recognizes an organization for meeting or exceeding the Hospice Medicare Conditions of Participation, based on an intensive accreditation review. This distinction follows an unannounced and comprehensive three-day onsite survey, which in our case was conducted by The Joint Commission — widely regarded as the industry’s most stringent accrediting body and the gold standard for healthcare evaluation, reinforcing our commitment to excellence, safety, and high-quality care.
Here are just a few key areas accreditation assesses compliance across:
The evaluation is incredibly in-depth, and justifiably so. These measures directly translate to quality of care and patient outcomes. “Zero findings” means The Joint Commission surveyor discovered no compliance issues or deficiencies in any aspect of our operations.
What does this mean for our patients and families?
In any industry, compliance shouldn’t be a box-checking measure. Nor should it be the end of an organization’s efforts. Compliance should be the starting line, not the finish line — that’s how we approach things at In the Arms of Grace Hospice.
The requirements of CMS serve as the foundation for our services, and we build upon it daily, monthly, and yearly. This achievement is a milestone on an ongoing journey toward excellence in dignity and compassion. We plan on maintaining these standards through staff education, continuous evaluations, and patient feedback.
Our patients and families deserve nothing less. We’d like to thank them, our staff, and our partners for their ongoing trust and support.
