Kevin Tutunjian

President

Kevin Tutunjian is President of In the Arms of Grace Hospice. Kevin is a mission-oriented and quality driven leader with nearly ten years of executive management experience in the healthcare industry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Hospice & Palliative Care Association (CHAPCA), the Regulatory Committee of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), and the Public Policy Committee of CHAPCA. He is Chair of CHAPCA’s Education and Leadership Development Committee, wherein he leads a dedicated team of volunteer professionals responsible for organizing CHAPCA’s annual state hospice and palliative care conference. Most recently, he was appointed to the National Government Services (NGS) Medicare Administrative Contractor Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group. He represents California as a Hospice Ambassador on behalf of the Hospice Action Network (HAN), the advocacy affiliate of NHPCO. As a hospice advocate, he regularly meets with federal lawmakers in Washington, DC, to discuss critical policy issues that impact hospice and palliative care providers and beneficiaries alike. He is passionate about raising the bar for California hospice providers through education and advocacy. Kevin is driven by the ethos that every patient deserves the same dignity and grace in their final days as they had in the prime of life. Exploring the limitless possibilities of enriching the patient-family experience is the foundation of the culture which he instills in his team and in the heart of IAGH’s mission. Kevin is a Certified Hospice Administrator by the National Board of Home Care and Hospice Certification (NBHHC), and holds a bachelor’s degree from Pitzer College, a member of The Claremont Colleges.

Dr. Jaykumar H. Shah, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Jaykumar H. Shah, MD is Medical Director of In the Arms of Grace Hospice. Dr. Shah is among the most well-respected family practice physicians in the San Gabriel Valley. He began his private practice in Arcadia, CA in 1987 and has served as medical director for many of the top-rated skilled nursing facilities in the San Gabriel Valley, with extensive experience and expertise in geriatric care and palliative medicine. He has been a hospitalist at USC Arcadia Hospital for over 35 years. During his tenure at USC Arcadia Hospital, Dr. Shah has served as both Chair of the Department of Medicine and Chief of Staff. He has held numerous leadership and mentorship posts within the hospital’s administration such as Chair of the Quality Improvement Committee, President of the Affiliated Private Practice Association, and is current Chair of the Mentoring and Wellbeing Committee. Dr. Shah completed his residency and medical training at Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center (LAC+USC) and was admitted to the Medical Board of California in 1985. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Lyuba Rafailova, RN, BSN, PHN

Director of Patient Care Services

Lyuba Rafailova is Director of Patient Care Services at In the Arms of Grace Hospice. Lyuba has over ten years of experience in hospice and home health. She is a second-generation hospice caregiver and began her nursing career as a hospice visiting nurse and soon realized that hospice was her calling. She has extensive experience in quality assurance, having worked for one of the leading hospice and home health consulting firms in the country. She is a thoughtful, compassionate leader who nurtures her team’s growth and development, while always extending the hospice heart to every patient and family she encounters. Lyuba holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCLA, graduating cum laude. She subsequently received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University with distinction, graduating cum laude and on Dean’s List.
