Nurses Appreciation at In the Arms of Grace Hospice

This week, the nation took time to say “thanks” to the five million actively licensed nurses in the United States. About 175,000 of those nurses work in the home health and hospice setting. These nurses serve as the backbone of our healthcare system, providing comfort, care, and dignity to their patients day in and day out.

At In the Arms of Grace Hospice, we honored our spectacular nursing team with a luncheon as a small show of gratitude for the essential role they play in the lives of our patients and families.

In hospice care, nurses serve on the front lines of care. They are the ones assessing symptoms, adjusting care plans, answering questions, and helping families understand what their loved one is going through.

Every day, these nurses give of themselves. They grant patience, empathy, resilience, and heart while maintaining the clinical skill that keeps patients comfortable and cared for. Without them, we would not be able to fulfill our mission of extending grace, dignity, and compassion to our patients in the final phase of life.

Our nursing team’s work reflects the very best of hospice care. We know the work they do is not easy, and we don’t take it for granted. For us, every week is nurse appreciation week. We are so thankful for the work our nurses do to make such a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve.
