Team IAGH Attends 2024 CHAPCA Annual Conference

Long Beach, CA – The California Hospice and Palliative Care Association (CHAPCA) held its Annual Conference on November 5-7, 2024, in Long Beach, CA. The highly anticipated event brought together hospice and palliative care professionals from across the state for three-days of  dynamic keynotes speakers, seminars, and networking opportunities.

The theme of this year’s conference was, “Leading Through Change: Ensuring organization-wide mobilization and motivation to adapt to industry changes and challenges using complete and through messaging”. The conference kicked off with a Keynote Presentation by Dennis McIntee on Leadership Development followed by a book signing and Q&A with author and TikTok star Hospice Nurse Julie. The second-day of programming boasted a range of diverse concurrent track sessions centered around leadership and clinical operations. The final day of the conference concluded  with a Federal Regulatory Update by Judi Lund Person, principal of Lund Person & Associates, LLC and former Vice President of Regulatory and Compliance at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and a State Regulatory Update by the California Department of Public Health.

In his opening address, IAGH President Kevin Tutunjian, who has served as Chair of CHAPCA’s Education Committee for the past four years, stated, “Leadership is a balancing act, and in that act, we bear the awesome task of unlocking our team’s potential and transforming limitations into opportunities. When our work is best done, we leave ample room for our team to shine, and our patients and families to experience the greatness of hospice and palliative care.”
